From **Saturday, 10 October**, to **Monday, 12 October 2026**, Poland's maximum fuel prices will be **6.97 PLN/l for Pb95 petrol, 7.85 PLN/l for Pb98 petrol and 8.06 PLN/l for diesel, including VAT**. The diesel cap rises by 0.24 PLN/l and goes above 8 PLN/l for the first time in this CPN edition. The Minister of Energy announced the caps for the weekend and Monday on 9 October in [Monitor Polski 2026, item 985](https://www.monitorpolski.gov.pl/MP/2026/985).

## Maximum fuel prices from 10 to 12 October 2026

| Fuel | Cap excluding VAT, PLN/l | Cap including VAT, PLN/l |
|---|---:|---:|
| Pb95 petrol | 6.45 | 6.97 |
| Pb98 petrol | 7.27 | 7.85 |
| Diesel | 7.46 | 8.06 |

Both sets of values come from the [original notice, item 985 (PDF)](https://monitorpolski.gov.pl/MP/2026/985/M2026000098501.pdf). The retail figures include 8% VAT.

These caps apply at every filling station in Poland. They are maximum prices, so a station can charge less. The period is confirmed in the [Ministry of Energy announcement of 9 October](https://www.gov.pl/web/energia/maksymalna-cena-detaliczna-paliw-obowiazujaca-w-dniach-10-12-pazdziernika-2026-r).

## Why one notice covers three days

On non-working days, the price announced on the last working day before the weekend or holiday applies. The [Ministry of Energy](https://www.gov.pl/web/energia/maksymalna-cena-detaliczna-paliw-obowiazujaca-w-dniach-10-12-pazdziernika-2026-r) explains that it stays in force until the next working day, including that day. That is why Friday's caps also cover Monday, and new caps can take effect on Tuesday, 13 October, at the earliest.

## What changes from 9 October?

The changes per litre, including VAT, are:

- **Pb95: +0.07 PLN**, from 6.90 to 6.97 PLN/l.
- **Pb98: +0.08 PLN**, from 7.77 to 7.85 PLN/l.
- **Diesel: +0.24 PLN**, from 7.82 to 8.06 PLN/l.

This is the largest change in any cap since rollout; until now the caps had moved by 0.08 PLN/l at most. All three caps rise for the second time in a row. The comparison uses notices [983](https://www.monitorpolski.gov.pl/MP/2026/983) and [985](https://www.monitorpolski.gov.pl/MP/2026/985).

## Recent days and history since 3 October

The table shows the last seven days, and the chart the programme's full history. For the first three days, 3 to 5 October, the caps were 6.73 PLN/l for Pb95, 7.59 PLN/l for Pb98 and 7.88 PLN/l for diesel, according to [item 964](https://www.monitorpolski.gov.pl/MP/2026/964).

Every cap is now above its rollout level: Pb95 by **0.24 PLN/l**, Pb98 by **0.26 PLN/l** and diesel by **0.18 PLN/l**. The diesel cap is 0.21 PLN/l above the Pb98 cap.

## What does the change mean for a truck's fuel bill?

Buying **600 litres of diesel at the maximum price** would cost 4,692 PLN including VAT on 9 October and **4,836 PLN from 10 to 12 October**. That is **144 PLN more** for the same fill. Against the cap for the programme's first three days, it is 108 PLN more including VAT.

The cap stays the same for three days, so for routes refuelling over the weekend or on Monday you already know the upper limit for the diesel price. Base a quote on the price you expect to pay, including any agreed discount. Settle the completed trip using the actual purchase recorded on the invoice.

Friday's caps and the comparison with Thursday are in our [update for 9 October](/en/blog/cpn-fuel-prices-2026-10-09).
