All three caps are lower than on Friday, and the diesel cap comes down to exactly 8 PLN/l. The Minister of Energy announced the caps for the weekend and Monday on 16 October in Monitor Polski 2026, item 1011.
Prices checked on 16 October 2026 at 20:53 Polish local time.
Maximum fuel prices from 17 to 19 October 2026
| Fuel | Cap excluding VAT, PLN/l | Cap including VAT, PLN/l |
|---|---|---|
| Pb95 petrol | 6.38 | 6.89 |
| Pb98 petrol | 7.11 | 7.68 |
| Diesel | 7.41 | 8.00 |
Both sets of amounts are quoted as published in the original notice, item 1011 (PDF). The gross caps include 8% VAT.
These caps apply at every filling station in Poland. They are maximum prices, so a station can charge less. The period is confirmed in the Ministry of Energy announcement of 16 October.
Why one notice covers three days
Friday's notice also sets the price for the weekend. According to the Ministry of Energy, on days off work the price announced on the last working day before them applies until the next working day, including that day. So Monday, 19 October, keeps the same caps, and new caps can take effect on Tuesday, 20 October, at the earliest.
What changes from 16 October?
The changes per litre, including VAT, are:
- Pb95: -0.06 PLN, from 6.95 to 6.89 PLN/l.
- Pb98: -0.08 PLN, from 7.76 to 7.68 PLN/l.
- Diesel: -0.03 PLN, from 8.03 to 8.00 PLN/l.
All three caps fall for the second notice in a row, and both petrol caps for the third. The Pb98 cap is the lowest since 6 October, when it was 7.66 PLN/l, and Pb95 the lowest since 8 October (6.83 PLN/l). Diesel was last capped lower on 14 October, at 7.98 PLN/l. The comparison uses notices 1006 and 1011.

The table covers the last seven calendar days. The same notice applies from 17 to 19 October.

All three remain above the 3 October launch caps: Pb95 by 0.16 PLN/l, Pb98 by 0.09 PLN/l and diesel by 0.12 PLN/l. The diesel cap is now 0.32 PLN/l above Pb98, the widest gap in this CPN edition.
What does this mean for a 600-litre diesel fill?
Buying 600 litres of diesel at the cap would cost 4,818 PLN including VAT on 16 October and 4,800 PLN from 17 to 19 October. That is 18 PLN less for the same volume, and 72 PLN more than the 4,728 PLN at launch.
The cap stays the same until Monday, so for trucks refuelling over the weekend or on Monday the upper limit for diesel is already known. Base a route quote on the price you expect to pay, including any agreed discount, and settle the completed trip with the actual invoice cost.
