Poland's maximum fuel prices for Thursday, 8 October 2026, will be 6.83 PLN/l for Pb95 petrol, 7.71 PLN/l for Pb98 petrol and 7.74 PLN/l for diesel, including VAT. Tomorrow all three caps fall together for the first time since the programme began: petrol by 0.03 PLN/l and diesel by 0.06 PLN/l. The Minister of Energy announced the new limits on 7 October in Monitor Polski 2026, item 978.

Both sets of values come from the original notice, item 978 (PDF). The retail figures include 8% VAT.
These caps apply at every filling station in Poland. They are maximum prices, so a station can charge less. The effective date is confirmed in the Ministry of Energy announcement of 7 October.
What changes from 7 October?
The changes per litre, including VAT, are:
- Pb95: -0.03 PLN, from 6.86 to 6.83 PLN/l.
- Pb98: -0.03 PLN, from 7.74 to 7.71 PLN/l.
- Diesel: -0.06 PLN, from 7.80 to 7.74 PLN/l.
The diesel cap falls for a third day running: by 0.06 PLN/l on Tuesday, 0.02 PLN/l on Wednesday and 0.06 PLN/l again on Thursday. After two increases, both petrol caps go down for the first time. The comparison uses notices 974 and 978.
CPN price history from 3 to 8 October
Friday's notice set one group of caps for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Since Tuesday, the caps have changed every day. The table covers the whole October edition so far, including the announced prices for tomorrow.

On Thursday the diesel cap will be 0.14 PLN/l lower than at rollout. Pb95 will be 0.10 PLN/l higher, and Pb98 0.12 PLN/l higher. That has almost closed the gap between the diesel and Pb98 caps: on 3 October the diesel cap was 0.29 PLN/l above the Pb98 cap, and on 8 October the difference will be 0.03 PLN/l.
What does the change mean for a truck's fuel bill?
Buying 600 litres of diesel at the maximum price would cost 4,680 PLN including VAT on 7 October and 4,644 PLN on 8 October. That is 36 PLN less for the same fill. Against the cap for the programme's first three days, the difference is 84 PLN including VAT.
When you quote a job for the coming days, use the price you expect to pay for fuel, including any agreed discount. The cap for the day you refuel is usually published only the day before. Settle the completed trip using the actual purchase recorded on the invoice.
